SEATTLE (AP) — Alaska Air Group Inc. (ALK) on Thursday reported third-quarter net income of $198 million.

On a per-share basis, the Seattle-based company said it had profit of $1.45. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $1.47 per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.41 per share.

The airline posted revenue of $1.47 billion in the period, matching Street forecasts.

Alaska Air shares have risen 27 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 41 percent in the last 12 months.
