RENO, Nev. (AP) — The Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority's board members say they like the job their CEO is doing and they're willing to put their money where their mouth is.
The RSCVA board voted Wednesday to reward authority president and CEO Chris Baum with a 16 percent bonus worth nearly $37,000.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reports (http://tinyurl.com/kjmgejc) board members Jerry Hawkins and Dennis McGovern credited Baum for much of the progress that's been made since he was hired during the recession three years ago. Bonnie Weber says he's helped improve the board's accountability.
Baum's three-year contract set to expire at the end of the year pays him an annual base salary of $225,000 with a potential bonus up to 20 percent. He got a $20,000 bonus in 2012 and $11,250 last year.
