TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) — Indiana State University's trustees want $64 million from state lawmakers to renovate and expand the school's nursing, health and human services building.
The trustees approved a 2015-17 capital budget request Thursday calling for the Terre Haute school to ask state lawmakers for that funding in next year's budget-writing session.
ISU vice president for business affairs Diann McKee tells the Tribune-Star (http://bit.ly/1tYcFln ) the College of Nursing, Health and Human Services is growing both in terms of enrollment and academic programs. But she says its academic programs are currently spread out all over campus in various buildings.
McKee says the current building was built in two phases in 1961 and 1985 and has undergone no renovations or updates since then. Parts of the building are not wheelchair-accessible and have well-worn infrastructure.
