SALT LAKE CITY -- A Salt Lake City woman who was accused of attacking her husband with a hammer took a plea deal.
Amy Ricks was originally charged with attempted murder. Her trial was set to start Tuesday, but instead she took a plea deal. Ricks pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of aggravated assault.
On May 4, 2007, Ricks told her husband she had a surprise waiting for him at her parents' Holladay condo. She then blindfolded him, spun him around and hit him in the head with the hammer.
She'll be sentenced on April 19.
