SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The House has given its OK to a measure that would allow people to ride a "street-legal" ATV on a road or highway.
House Bill 425 --- sponsored by Representative Mike Noel --- passed yesterday with a 49 to 20 vote. The measure defines a street-legal ATV as a vehicle that is licensed with the state, passes a safety and emissions inspection and is modified for street use.
The Kanab Republican says the bill is intended to give people more choice in their driving habits.
The measure now heads to a Senate committee for debate.
