(KSL News) An engineering lesson also became a history lesson today in downtown Salt Lake.
Students from the Academy of Math, Engineering and Science joined local engineering firms to create historical buildings out of school supplies at the Salt Lake City Library. It's all a part of an annual competition to give kids experience in the engineering design process.
The competition showcased local buildings, as well as historical structures like the Eiffel Tower and Colosseum.
Paul Christian, Student: "It collapsed three times on us. We lost all the pencils."
But every group got their structure to stand in the end. The structures will be on display until the end of the week. All the materials used will then be donated to local schools.
