OGDEN -- Police are searching for three men who forced their way into an Ogden home. Officers said the men were armed with weapons when they kicked down the front door of a home on the 2300 block of Van Buren Avenue early Tuesday morning.
It happened around 1 a.m., and police said the three men were carrying two handguns and a shotgun. They wore dark clothes and had their faces covered.
After entering the home, the group went straight for the master bedroom, but police are not sure what the men were after.
"[They were] demanding ‘it.' We're not sure what ‘it' is at this point," said Ogden police Lt. Scott Sangberg. "They ransacked their bedroom, looking for whatever it is they were looking for."
Police said the group took off with a cell phone and laptop, and broke another cell phone. Witnesses said the men were angry because they did not find what they were looking for.
Three adults and three kids were home at the time, but no one was hurt. The family called the police, but the men left before the officers arrived.
Police are investigating the crime but do not know if the family knew the men. Officers said they have been called to the house before, but they wouldn't comment why.
