PROVO, Utah (AP) -- A body found floating in the Provo River was identified Tuesday as an 18-year-old local man.

"It was just sticking out of the water," said Shiree Russell, 14, who saw the fully clothed body Monday on the way home from Independence High School.

"I didn't know what to do, so I ran back to school and called my mom," Shiree said.

Police identified the young man as Anthony Abeyta of Provo. Officers were awaiting the results of an autopsy. There were no obvious wounds.

"It doesn't appear to be suspicious from our examination of the body," police Lt. John Geyerman said, referring to the cause of death.

The victim did not have ties to the high school, Geyerman said.

A trust fund has been set up for funeral expenses. You can donate at any US Bank. The fund name is 'Barbara Fernandez for Anthony Paul Abeyta'.
