SALT LAKE CITY -- A woman and toddler escaped injury when someone fired several shots into their Glendale area home.

Det. Dennis McGowan with the Salt Lake City Police Department says officers found a large number of shell casings in the driveway and on the street. He says someone also roughed up a car and left it burning in the driveway.

No one was injured in the incident, which happened near 1600 West and 500 South just after 4 a.m.

McGowan says arson investigators are going over the car looking for clues. No word on whether the woman knows those apparently targeting her. Gang investigators are also looking into the incident.
