LOGAN -- Searchers combed through a wide area of wilderness east of Logan all weekend and found no trace of an 18-year-girl who was long overdue on a hike.

Searchers used dogs, helicopters, horses and vehicles to no avail. She went into the mountains with her dog Wednesday, prepared for a hike that was supposed to last two or three days.

Friends of Andrea Celina Roye told investigators she has green hair and was probably dressed just as she appears in the picture.

Cache County sheriff's Lt. Matt Bilodeau said, "They stated that she wanted to be up here and be one with the wilderness and she wanted to be away from people. They were telling us she doesn't want to be found, and so, she might be hiding from us. It's wilderness and it's tough. If you don't want to be found, or if you're in a place that can't be easily see from the air, you're gonna not be found."

The search is expected to resume Monday.
