Gene Kennedy ReportingSalt Lake Police say the motive for a carjacking from this morning may be different than they first thought.

Police thought the suspect and the two men with him may have been after the drugs. However, when they found the van in an alley this afternoon, it looked like nothing had been taken.

A neighbor saw the van go into the alley just a few minutes after the carjacking.

Det. Robin Snyder, Salt Lake City Police Dept.: "They stopped the actual delivery guy. Rather than going into the pharmacy, they stopped him and took the van that had prescriptions in it."

It's possible the thieves didn't know there were prescriptions in the van because the vehicle wasn't marked and it wasn't the driver's normal delivery time.

The University Pharmacy off 2nd South was simply one stop. But it was here that a man in a white hooded sweatshirt walked up, showed a gun and demanded keys to the van.
