SALT LAKE CITY -- Some local teenagers involved in a substance abuse program shared the lessons they've learned through art Saturday.
Ten young artists from Salt Lake County Youth Services were asked to answer the question, "Why can't I stop doing drugs?"
Each gave their own artistic interpretation as an answer. The works were compiled into a giant mural that now hangs in the Salt Lake City Library.
"I painted Rx on my board for prescription and a pill bottle," said artist James Plant. "Basically my answer was some people get addicted to prescription pills when they're prescribed, so that's why they can't stop."
The teens trained with volunteer artists for eight weeks in preparation for the project. They say they are proud of their work.
The "What is Puzzling?" showcase will run through August 22 at the Salt Lake City Library. It has already made stops in Sandy, West Valley and at the Matheson Courthouse.
