SALT LAKE CITY -- Nearly 75 percent of Utahns have home Internet access, according to a new report from the census. That ranks sixth in the country among states.
Utah also ranks fifth when it comes to Internet use, at home or away. XMission founder Pete Ashdown calls the Internet a "ubiquitous utility," telling the Salt Lake Tribune numbers here and everywhere are going to continue to go up.
To put it into perspective, only 54 percent of Utahns had access at home in 2001.
Utahns have fared high in other Internet studies, as well. Some aren't for bragging rights, including No. 1 for online porn, according to the Journal of Economic Perspectives.
