SALT LAKE CITY -- Hundreds of people called KSL's newsroom Monday night, asking about what looked to be fighter jets escorting a commercial airliner in the skies above the Salt Lake Valley. It was actually all part of the Air Force Week celebration in Salt Lake City.

A KC-135 Tanker and four F-16 fighter jets buzzed the Salt Lake Bees game in formation as part of the Air Force festivities. They also flew a number a circles at fairly low altitudes around the Salt Lake Valley.

Salt Lake City is one of just three cities selected to host Air Force Week, showcasing the flying men and women of our armed forces.

KSL talked to Air Force officials Monday night, who say you can expect similar flyovers throughout the week leading up to a weekend air show at Hill Air Force Base.
