SALT LAKE CITY -- A mistake that ended up getting a Utah author fired from her job also ended up paving the way for her literary success. You may know her well from Web site dooce.com.
It's been an exhausting run for author Heather B. Armstrong. "That book took about two years to put together from start to finish," she said.
She's visited nine different cities on her tour, promoting her book "It Sucked and Then I Cried," which describes her postpartum depression. It's already hit the New York Times Best Seller List, which really surprised her.
"I didn't sleep for a couple days. It was shocking. It was just not even something I thought was possible," Armstrong said.
She says the time she was fired for complaining about her job on her blog made it possible "That's what launched my infamy was: ‘This woman was stupid enough to write about her work on her Web site,'" Armstrong said.
Her tour was made even more exhausting coupled with the fact that she's expecting another baby in June.
