By Becky BruceSALT LAKE CITY -- Twilight fever is back in a big way as the novel-turned-movie arrives on DVD Friday at midnight.

The Macey's grocery store in Sandy is pulling out all the stops. From 6 p.m. to midnight the store plans giveaways, food, prom night and even a pre-showing of the DVD before it goes on sale. [Click here for a complete list of activities planned at the Sandy Macey's party]

Events coordinator Marilyn Bilbo told us, "Whichever couples come dressed in their prom dress, together, they receive a free boutonniere and a free corsage."

Bilbo says all the employees are wearing "Twilight Fever" shirts with sayings like "I'm my husband's Bella" and "Have you been bitten?" on the back.

According to Access Hollywood, a number other retailers will be holding special midnight parties for the DVD launch of the teen vampire drama on Friday night, with stars and filmmakers making surprise appearances at one store each in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas and Salt Lake City, Access Hollywood can reveal!"

Access Hollywood isn't saying which Salt Lake-area location is being treated to a special guest, but says these are the locations of 10 p.m. to midnight parties where one might show:

  • Wal-Mart, 13502 South Hamilton View Rd., Riverton
  • Wal-Mart, 11328 S. Jordan Gateway Rd., South Jordan
  • Wal-Mart, 9151 South Quarry Rd., Sandy
  • Wal-Mart, 3180 S 5600, West Valley City
  • Hot Topic, 10450 South State St., Sandy
  • FYE, 7170 S 1000 E, Midvale
  • Blockbuster, 1852 E. 9400, South, Sandy
  • Blockbuster, 4918 West 6200, South Kearns
  • Blockbuster, 4095 South Redwood, West Valley City
