(KSL News) Salt Lake City police found a stolen vehicle overnight, but it took some work to recover it.

Late last night a patrolman spotted an SUV in the Jordan River service canal near 2600 West and 500 South. They used a tow truck and a strong winch to pull it out.

Police are unsure how long the vehicle was in the river.

They do tell us, though, the vehicle was stolen from a man in November as he was warming it up in his driveway.
