(KSL News) -- A gas leak forced some Salt Lake City residents out of their homes this morning.
Construction crews working in the area of 900 South and 400 East, hit a two inch high pressure gas line.
Residents on both sides of 400 East were evacuated. There was a strong smell of gas in the air, but authorities were able to close the gas line in about 10 minutes.
Dennis McKone, Salt Lake City Fire Dept.: "Any time you have natural gas leaking it's a potential serious situation. It just takes one little spark for anything to ignite it."
One woman complained of a headache and nausea. She was checked out at the scene.
