While retailers wait to see how sales shake out on black Friday, restaurants are calling Thanksgiving a success.
At Mimi's Café in Murray, Thanksgiving Day business was up six percent from a year ago. Managing partner James Small said, "It's our busiest day of the year now. It just gets bigger and bigger every year, and we served a little over 2,100 people yesterday."
Some restaurants in Utah are even reporting double-digit percentage gains from last year. Restaurants managers say a possible reason for the increase is that smaller families like the convenience.
The National Restaurant Association says 11 percent of people choose to eat out on Thanksgiving.
