Orem police arrested four people, three men and one woman, earlier this week in connection with a stolen rental car. Three of the suspects are members of BYU's swim team. All of them are freshmen at BYU.

Court documents say they found a set of lost keys inside the Orem Wal-Mart on Oct. 29 and used them to take the car parked outside for a joy ride. The Deseret News reports two drove the rental car while the other two followed in another car.

The purse of the woman who had rented the car was inside the stolen vehicle. Police say the suspects tried unsuccessfully to use her bank card to buy gasoline and a snack.

The stolen car was found abandoned in Nephi two weeks later, but the purse was not recovered.

The Deseret News identifies the suspects as Matthew Rados, 18; Christopher Seth Parker, 18; Madison Elizabeth Gray, 19; and Jacob Jones, 18. All are from out of state.
