Someone broke into Cherry Hills Elementary School on 250 E. 1650 South Friday night and stole dozens of laptops.

Orem police say the suspect or suspects broke into the school's computer lab by breaking and cutting through a wired, glass window. Once inside, they stole all 36 of the Apple MacBook laptop computer worth $1,200 each.

Principal Alias Hart said, "These are kids that are anywhere from four years old to 12 years old, and that hurts, that's hard."

Hart said the students used the computers for technology classes and for a variety of special classes designed for students who needed extra help. "Our kids that are struggling in math were coming into the computer lab every day," she said.

If you have any information on this case, you're asked to call the Orem Police Department at 229-7069.
