People are heading to the bookstore and library to help them get through this current economic situation.
The bookshelf at Target has one copy left of "Rich Dad, Poor Dad." "Bad Money" by Kevin Phillips, and "Snowball" about Warren Buffet are selling well at several bookstores and so are "The New Paradigm for Financial Markets" by George Soros and "Hot, Flat and Crowded" by Thomas Friedman.
At the Salt Lake City Library, people are coming in perhaps for finance books, but more for help with jobs. Andrew Shaw, assistant manager of community affairs at the city library, says, "On level three here at the library, I talked to both our assistant manager and the manager, and they both separately said they see people coming in looking for jobs more often. They want help searching for jobs online. They want help writing a resume, things like that."
Shaw says the city library has librarians trained in specific areas like business.
Business is booming for certain books at Sam Weller's and King's English bookstores. Anything about the current economic situation is hot, but books about day trading and real estate are not at all.
