(KSL News) -- A Duchesne County deputy attorney is facing allegations he knew about incidents of child sex abuse, but failed to report them.

The Utah Attorney General's Office says Roland Uresk was contacted twice in the past year about allegations involving Brad R. Gale and a 15-year old victim.

In both cases Uresk did not investigate. He claims he had only second hand information about the possible crime.

Gale was later arrested when the Roosevelt Police Department and Duchesne County Sheriff's Office launched an investigation into the matter.

Uresk could now face misdemeanor charges of "willful failure to report."
