(KSL News) A 7-year-old boy is in the hospital this morning after being hit in a crosswalk.

Police say it happened yesterday around 6:30 p.m. as the boy and a girl were crossing with their bikes near 5400 South and 700 West.

The driver of a Hummer was making a right-hand turn at a red light, but police say she didn't see the children because the sun was in her eyes.

The boy was not wearing a helmet and suffered serious head injuries. He was flown to Primary Children's Medical Center. The girl was not hit.

There is no decision yet on whether to file charges against the driver.
