Alex Cabrero ReportingJust before Destiny's funeral took place, the parents of her accused killer visited their son in jail. Craig Gregerson is facing criminal homicide and aggravated murder charges, something his family still can't believe.

The Gregerson's, through a family spokesperson, say they are still in shock over these charges, but most of all, they feel terrible for Destiny's parents. At the same time, as unimaginably difficult as this all is, they still love their son and wanted to talk to him this morning.

At a time like this, the Gregersons are doing their best to face reality, drawing strength from one another to be united as a family, even though it's been completely changed forever.

Reed Farnsworth, Gregerson Family Spokesperson: "Our tears have flowed freely until there seems to be no more."

Reed Farnsworth has lived across the street from the Gregersons for 17 years and is acting as their spokesperson during this difficult time.

Reed Farnsworth: "They abhor sin and violence and crime in any way, and so you can imagine how difficult this week has been for them."

But as tough as it's been for them, they know it doesn't even come close to what Destiny's parents are feeling.

Reed Farnsworth: "Words cannot express our anguish that the Nortons are suffering so greatly. Despite the double edged sword cutting through our souls, we can only imagine the pain of the Norton family."

And most of all, the Gregersons wanted everyone to know that they understand how mad the Norton family and the community is.

Reed Farnswoth: "We understand the reason for the show of anger in the community, but we plead with everyone to bridle their emotions and let reason and justice prevail."

Gregerson's father and mother, brother and sister didn't go into details of what was said during their conversation with Craig this morning, some things are meant to be private. But they did share with us one part of their talk, that if there's any good Craig can do now, it's to take responsibility.

Reed Farnsworth: "We have urged Craig to do all that is possible to expedite the legal process, so the Norton family and our family may be granted a measure of peace and closure."

The Gregersons also told us they believe in and support the justice system, no matter what the end result may be.
