LAYTON — A unique talent has launched a Utah man into what might just be the coolest job in the world.

Boasting to have the world's most engaged audience on Snapchat, Shaun McBride earns a living by drawing pictures on his phone and sometimes traveling to wonderful destinations as he Snapchats.

McBride recently traveled to Spain for Samsung and created a "Snapchat adventure" about his trip. He also traveled to Disney World, which he said reminds his fans they want to take a Disney vacation.

"It's really like I'm my own platform, like … I'm my own television show," McBride said.

The professional snapchatter began using the social platform in 2014 when he was spending time with professional skateboarders and snowboarders for his job. His sisters wanted to keep up with his adventures and suggested he download the app.

"I've done a couple really cool detailed Snapchats that people can't believe they're made on Snapchat, they think it's photoshop or something ... I just draw them with my phone and my finger, I don't even use a stylus, and I just got good at it," McBride said. "Give me a pen and a pencil and I can't really draw that good, but on Snapchat I've become a pretty good artist."

Unlike people who become YouTube famous by going viral, McBride became well-known on Snapchat through word of mouth. He even interacts with his viewers.

"That gap between creator and consumer is really washed with Snapchat," McBride said.

McBride's Snapchat account — Shonduras — is about living life to the fullest. He currently has half a million followers.

Since many people have gotten to know McBride on Snapchat and want to know more about him, McBride started a daily YouTube vlog. Wednesday marked the 100th day of his vlog, which he refers to as the "best day ever" because he believes every day is the best day ever. Even if something negative happens, he said he finds a way to have the best day ever. "Even when bad stuff happens ... because bad stuff happens to everyone, I show them ... bad stuff happens to me, but I make the best out of it and it turns out awesome, right?" McBride said.
