(KSL News) A collision between a car and two tractor-trailers on I-15 near Payson killed a woman this morning.
Troopers say Melissa Sandoval, 28, was driving her car northbound next to a semi truck. She drifted into the semi, and then bounced off of it into the path of tanker truck traveling southbound.
"[That] caused the vehicle to roll, and it ended up in the median. The driver was thrown out of the vehicle," said Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Cameron Carter.
Sandoval was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of both trucks were uninjured.
The freeway was closed for more than four hours while troopers investigated the scene. They are now trying to determine why the car made initial contact with the semi.
