Ashley Hayes Reporting Being without your A/C or swamp cooler in these 100 degree temperatures seems crazy, even dangerous.

But that was the case for hundreds of residents living in Kearns. Their power was off and on for two days.

I imagine some units are working pretty hard to cool down what's been a long day and partial night inside these homes.

Rocky Mountain Power-- formerly Utah Power-- says they were able to restore power to most of the houses at 5600 West 6200 South sometime last night.

But a resident we spoke with says this is the second time they've dealt with this problem in just two days.

Taylor Waldron/Resident: "Yesterday about five o'clock we lost power. It came back on around two or two-thirty am, was on till noon. It's been out ever since. The last report we heard from them was ten o'clock tonight."

Eighty-seven people may still be without power. The electrical outage affected those in the Park Ridge subdivision. For these folks it's been a trying couple of days.

Power workers say a problem with an underground cable caused the electrical outage.

If necessary, crews planned to work throughout the night to make repairs, but we understand they fixed the problem around 9:00 last night.
