GARLAND — Police are hoping someone will recognize two teens who broke into Bear River Middle School earlier this week. Police Chief Chad Soffe says the two used a golf club to smash through a skylight and drop through the roof.

"The first boy dropped down, went and got a ladder, and helped the other one down," Soffe explained. "As they entered the building, they had their t-shirts around their face so that we couldn't find out who they were."

Still, Soffe said it's likely the boys, which he believes are between 14 and 18 years old are from the Garland area.

"They seem to know their way around the school," Soffe said.

The boys can be seen in surveillance video, rifling through classrooms for close to an hour before walking out the front door. One is seen carrying a box, the other a golf club over his shoulder. So far, Soffe says administrators are not sure what they took.

"The school has some iPads," Soffe explained. "They may have taken some audio-video equipment, things like that. It was a medium-sized box."

Soffe said school administrators are taking inventory of equipment while reaching out to staff to see if they're missing anything.

Anyone who may have information that could help with the investigation is asked to call the Garland Police Department, at 435-275-7577, or email police@garlandutah.org.
