Becky Bruce reportingSouth Jordan is asking the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) to put warning lights at every Bangerter Highway intersection in that city.
The city council wants the warning lights in place to let drivers know there's an intersection ahead. Why? The Deseret News reports there have been 74 crashes in South Jordan on Bangerter Highway for 2008, and obviously, the year's not over yet.
Eleven of those crashes included injuries, and one was fatal. A 4-year-old died when a car ran the red light at 10400 South and Bangerter in February.
The city needs UDOT's help because Bangerter is a state road.
