NORTH SALT LAKE — A chase across three cities ended in a crash Wednesday night.

The chase began in South Salt Lake, crossed Salt Lake City, and ended about 8:45 p.m. in North Salt Lake when the driver lost control and crashed into a power pole near 300 West and Center Street, North Salt Lake Police Sgt. Mitch Gwilliam said.

The driver and a passenger, a man and a woman, were transported to an area hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Their names were not released.

Rocky Mountain Power was assessing the damage at the scene Wednesday night.

Throughout the course of the chase, the driver reportedly collided with a police vehicle and crashed through a set of railroad crossing arms.

"They drove through and around the crossing arms," Gwilliam said.

Details about how the chase with South Salt Lake police began were not immediately available.

No officers were injured in the chase. The road near the crash was closed into the evening as police investigated.
