SYRACUSE — One man was flown to the hospital after an officer-involved shooting Thursday night, police said.
At about 7 p.m., police were called to a residence near 3000 West 2125 South on a domestic call that included a report of a man with a gun, said Erin Behn of the Syracuse Police Department. As soon as the officers arrived at the door, shots were fired at officers from inside the home, she said.
Officers returned fire, resulting in the injury of the man, Behn said. However, the nature or severity of the man's injuries were not disclosed Thursday night. The man was flown to an area hospital.
No officers were injured in the incident, Behn said. The man's girlfriend, who was inside the home at the time of the incident, was also uninjured.
Four officers initially responded to the incident, according to Behn. Officers from both the Syracuse Police Department and the Davis County Sheriff's Office responded to the call, she said.
Further details were not released as the investigation continues.
This is the second officer-involved shooting to occur in Utah Thursday.
