OGDEN — Law enforcement agents tracked a wanted man to a home in Ogden then arrested him after he shot at officers, the Utah Department of Corrections said.

Lorenzo Puentes, 37, was on probation for possession of a deadly weapon with intent to assault, according to a news release from the Utah Department of Corrections.

Members of the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team approached a house in the 1000 block of 28th Street in Ogden around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Puentes fled the house and fired at least one shot at officers gathered on the side of the home, the release said.

No officers were hit or injured. Officers did not return fire.

Puentes fled on foot but agents arrested him about a block from the home, according to the release. An investigation is ongoing.

The strike team is headed by the U.S. Marshals Service and includes members of local law enforcement agencies, including Adult Probation and Parole.
