OGDEN — Two children were airlifted to Primary Children’s Hospital in critical condition after a head-on collision Friday morning.
The accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. near 300 W. 21st St., according to Ogden City police. A 59-year-old woman was driving a Toyota Camry westbound on a two-lane eastbound road when she hit an eastbound Chrysler sedan in a head-on collision, police said.
A 32-year-old female was driving the Chrysler and had her baby, a 5-year-old daughter and a 6-year-old daughter in the backseat. The children were secured in child restraint seats, but the 5-year-old and 6-year-old were critically injured in the accident.
The two children were airlifted by medical helicopter to Primary Children’s Hospital. The 32-year-old female and the infant received minor injuries and were treated on the scene by emergency responders.
Eastbound 21st Street was closed for a few hours, but has since been reopened.
No citations or arrests have yet been made and the accident is still under investigation.
