PROVO — A Provo bank is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of three brazen bank robbers.

They robbed a bank in Provo wearing suits, ties, beards and masks, and threatened people inside the bank. According to Brian Taylor of the Provo Police Department, this crime is similar to one that took place in Lindon in May.

Taylor said three people stormed into the American Bank of Commerce at 3670 N. University Avenue at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday and took control of the lobby. One of them jumped the counter and demanded cash from a clerk.

The clerk complied, and the men fled in a white, full-sized Chevrolet van with tinted windows.

No one was injured.

Taylor said the robbery in Lindon was also at an American Bank of Commerce, and it was also a take-over robbery.

Two robbers wore suits and masks, and carried guns, Tasers, and pepper spray in that incident. A bank employee was tased and pepper sprayed in the face. Others had guns held to their heads.

Anyone with information on the cases should call Detective Payne at 801-852-6255.
