(KSL News) A rock-climbing accident sent a woman to the hospital today.
Officials say four friends were climbing in Big Cottonwood Canyon. One of the climbers was preparing to rappel down the rock when her rope got tangled. She unclipped from her gear to fix the rope, lost her balance, and fell 80 feet to the ground.
The woman's friends flagged down a driver on a nearby road who called 911.
The woman was flown to the hospital in serious condition but is expected to be OK.
