HONDURAS — A missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in Honduras died Thursday, a church spokesman said.
Angel de Jesus Martinez Campos, 27, was serving in the Honduras Tegucigalpa Mission at the time of his death, according to church spokesman Cody Craynor. He died as a result of injuries sustained when the car he was riding in became involved in an accident.
Campos is from Usulutan, El Salvador and started his mission in October 2013, Craynor said.
He was riding with his companion George B. Lewis, from Francis, at the time of the accident. Lewis was also injured in the accident but is expected to recover, Craynor said.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this tragedy,” he said.
