MILLVILLE — A man was arrested after causing a three-vehicle accident while driving under the influence Thursday evening, police said.

Cache County deputies responded to the accident at 140 W. 200 South around 7:30 p.m. Eyewitnesses identified Alvin Henson, 40, of Millville, as driving a 1993 Dodge Dakota pickup east on 200 South. Henson had a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the accident, later identified as Brian Schofield, 29, of Logan.

Henson was driving erratically and lost control of the pickup truck, according to eyewitnesses. The vehicle crossed into the westbound lane and hit a 1999 Cadillac Deville as well a motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist, Randolph Wirth, 67, was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to Logan Regional Hospital by ambulance. Wirth was later airlifted to McKay Dee Hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the Cadillac Deville was identified as Clay Wilker, 51, of Millville. He and a juvenile passenger in his car were uninjured in the accident.

Deputies on the scene reportedly discovered alcohol in connection with Henson and Schofield, according to Cache County Police. Henson was taken into custody and booked into the Cache County Jail. He was charged with driving under the influence, driving on alcohol restriction and failure to install an interlock device.

Police said that Henson has prior DUI arrests on his record. The Cache County Sheriff’s Office has been in consultation with the Cache County Attorney's Office and the incident is still under investigation.
