SOUTH JORDAN — Police arrested a man in connection with a Zions Bank robbery that occurred on Friday afternoon.

South Jordan Police Department identified the suspect as Lorin Nielsen. The arrest was due in large part to tips received from the public, according to officials.

Detectives tracked down Nielsen to a hotel in South Salt Lake on Saturday and took him into custody.

Nielsen was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail and charged with aggravated robbery. He also had several outstanding warrants.

“The South Jordan Police Department would like to thank the public for its assistance in this case, along with security officials of Zions Bank and the Salt Lake Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigations,” the press release said.
