(KSL News) The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints issued a clarification today about a widely circulating photo that purports to be the only known camera image of Church founder Joseph Smith.
The picture was discovered in 1994 in the archives of the Community of Christ church in Independence, Mo. Some e-mails circulating with the photo claim it's been authenticated by the LDS Church. That is not true.
As we reported two days ago, some experts are keeping an open mind, but the photo has not been authenticated by either church.
