MILLCREEK — A 56-year-old motorcyclist was killed Monday after colliding with a car, police said.

Steven J. Young, of Salt Lake City, was taken to Intermountain Medical Center in extremely critical condition after the accident and died later Monday night, police said.

The driver of the car, a 25-year-old woman, was not injured.

According to witnesses, the light turned red and both vehicles entered the intersection at 3900 South and 900 East. The motorcyclist was westbound on 3900 South when an eastbound car made a left turn and hit the motorcycle at 3:58 p.m., said Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal.

The accident remains under investigation, Hoyal said.
