GARFIELD COUNTY — An extreme thunderstorm caused severe flooding near the Panguitch Monday afternoon.
The thunderstorm swept through the Sand Wash and Lime Kiln area, according to Garfield County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Cheryl Church. The rainfall caused severe flooding on the agricultural land surrounding several homes.
The flood caused thousands of dollars in damage to property owners. The Garfield County Sheriff reported that no homes were flooded, and no people or animals were injured.
The area is approximately five miles northeast of Panguitch.
