SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Salt Lake City is close to setting a record as temperatures reached 100 degrees again on Thursday.
The National Weather Service says one more day of that kind of heat, and Salt Lake City will match the record.
Meteorologist Lisa Verzella says the city has registered 20 days of triple-digit heat this summer.
That's just one day shy of the record set in 1960 and again in 1994.
Verzella says the temperature hit 100 in Salt Lake City for a few minutes starting at 2:42 p.m. Thursday, then dropped a degree.
Salt Lake City already set a record with the warmest July in recorded history.
