WEST VALLEY CITY — Emergency crews responded to a five-car accident in West Valley City Monday morning that put one man into the hospital.
At accident happened near 5600 West and 2900 South. The driver of a pickup truck, driving south, crossed the center line and slammed into car going north. The second car spun out and hit another car.
The pickup continued moving forward and eventually hit a white SUV head-on.
The driver was transported by ambulance to Intermountain Medical Center in serious condition. The driver of the white SUV sustained only minor injuries.
Police are unsure if alcohol, drugs or texting played a role in the accident, which is still under investigation.
UDOT reported 5600 West was closed from 2700 South to 2900 South for some time.
