NIBLEY, Utah (AP) -- A man rounding up cows at a dairy fell into an ice-covered pit and died Friday, authorities said.
The Cache County sheriff's office described it as a pit filled with water and soupy cow manure.
"It is loose quicksand," Lt. Matt Bilodeau said. "You can't swim in it. You're almost completely incapacitated in it."
Co-workers looked for the man after he disappeared for more than an hour. They followed his tracks in snow to the pit. A flat-bottom boat was launched to find the body.
The victim's name was not immediately released. He was in his early 20s.
