ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) -- A 15-year-old boy will be prosecuted as an adult in the death of a 15-year-old girl in a St. George park.

Fifth District Juvenile Court Judge Thomas Higbee announced the decision.

Police say Keely Hall was sexually assaulted and strangled in January at Dixie Downs Park. The boy, who was 14 at the time, is charged with rape and first-degree murder.

Higbee says the boy's name cannot be publicly released until the case is formally filed in District Court. He calls Hall's death "brutal and malicious in every way."

The boy's attorney, Alan Boyack, says a plea deal with prosecutors is in the works.
