EAGLE MOUNTAIN — Maryanne Redding wasn't sure what to take with her.
"Why wasn't I prepared?" she asked. "What do you take? How do you know what to take?"
The Reddings' home was among the nearly 100 that were evacuated Monday night as a wildfire that started at Camp Williams crossed the Utah National Guard training site's southern border.
The Eagle Mountain Fire Department issued a mandatory evacuation order about 7 p.m. Monday for homes in the North Ranch subdivision. City officials said the order would remain active overnight.
"We just loaded up the trailer and grabbed whatever we could think of," Bob Redding said.
An evacuation center was established at Rockwell High School, 3435 E. Stonebridge Lane. Large animals were being taken to Pony Express Rodeo Arena, 4447 Major St., city officials said.

"We have been preparing for the possibility of more wildfires," said Maxine Margaritis, CEO of the American Red Cross for Utah. "Our supplies are well positioned throughout the state, and we will be there to help Utahns in need for as long as is necessary."
About 10 p.m., Red Cross officials were preparing to transition the evacuation center into a full-service overnight shelter.
The lightning-caused Pinyon Fire has burned nearly 2,000 acres since it started about 6:30 p.m. Sunday near Pinyon Hill.
"It just came down one of the allies and just blew up, pretty much," said evacuee Colton Redding.
Camp Williams firefighters were being assisted by the Unified Fire Department and crews from Eagle Mountain, Saratoga Springs, Lehi, Cedar Fort and Bluffdale.
The Utah Army National Guard dispatched three Blackhawk helicopters Monday morning to dump their 600-gallon buckets on the blaze.
The fire has destroyed three small buildings at Camp Williams, along with some power poles, fire officials said.
