(KSL News) TRAX service in Salt Lake County is back up and running at this hour.

University and Sandy lines went down when some sort of power outage or bump impacted the TRAX lines used to get trains up and moving.

UTA spokesperson Carrie Bohnsack-Ware explained, "That's how we get power to our TRAX trains. So the very first TRAX train went on that piece of track, and it malfunctioned."

The top of the TRAX train caught on fire, and crews had to tow it off the line and fix 30 to 40 feet of cable for the other TRAX trains.

Crews spent about two hours making repairs before things were back up and running. Extra buses were called in to help this morning.
