SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A new poll suggests Utah's school voucher program is unpopular with voters.
The results of the Salt Lake Tribune poll, posted on its Web site Thursday, found that 56 percent of voters surveyed said if the election were held today, they would vote against the program. Thirty-six percent said they would vote for it. Eight percent were undecided.
A total 625 voters were polled by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research between Monday and Wednesday. There is a margin of error of 4 percentage points.
Voters will decide the future of the universal voucher program on Tuesday. The program approved by the Legislature would provide vouchers ranging from $500 to $3,000 for private school tuition.
