WEBER COUNTY — Students in Weber County are making great gains in reading, so Chopper 5 swooped in to say congratulations.

We joined the party to North Ogden Elementary School, where students are taking part in our Read Today program. Their volunteer tutors told us they get as much out of it as the kids.

"Once I came, I was hooked," tutor Pam Cuddebact said. "I have just loved my two kids, and we're going to keep reading together this summer."

Students excitedly waved their new books. Big O Tires $1,000 worth of them for both North Ogden Elementary and Oddessey Elementary School in Ogden.

"We know that reading is one of the biggest things they can do to be successful," said Brian Wandling, with Big O Tires.

"We want these kids reading," Big O's Ismael Reyes added. "We want them to do good in school.
